Grant for Carbon2Chem® 2nd project phase

In October, the project partners received the grant for the second project phase of Carbon2Chem®.

Carbon2Chem® is a large-scale joint project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Participants from the chemical, energy and steel industries from all over Germany are involved in the project, and they can now tie on the first successful phase. The second phase of Carbon2Chem® will validate the developed processes for large-scale implementation and thus lay the foundation for a low-emission steel production. The approval was solemnly at the end of October 2020 on the “3. Conference on sustainable chemical conversion in industry as part of the joint project Carbon2Chem®“ handed over by the Federal Minister for Education and Research, Anja Karliczek. The scientific work following on from the 1st phase could already be start on June 1st, 2020.

CMT is responsible for the administrative support of a sub-project of Carbon2Chem®. In this context, it prepared and submitted RWTH Aachen University´s proposal and application.
